About The Free Medical Clinic:
The Free Medical Clinic helps patients who have household income at or below 133% of the federal poverty level and have no health insurance (no Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance).
The Free Medical Clinic is a vital part of the community. In 2009, the clinic, a medical home for thousands of uninsured, provided more than 11,000 patient visits and dispensed more than $4 million in medications and diabetic supplies from its in-house pharmacy. The number of patients who need help is increasing and the workload continues to increase.
According to Dr. Todd Crump, medical director of The Free Medical Clinic, approximately 20% of people in the midlands do not have health insurance. Depending on donations and grants, The Free Medical Clinic needs help meeting the increasing demand for resources necessary to continue providing exceptional health care to the most under-served citizens.
